Myth:

Around may of '07 there were rumors circulating that our donuts are cooked in lard.
Funny, because lard is not vegan, right? Seriously... Some different people in both Berkeley and San Francisco approached me and asked "Is there any truth to the rumor that your donuts are fried in lard?"

Truth:

To which I responded "No."
Our donuts are fried in organic palm fruit oil, which is imported to the US from Colombia. We dont have lard in our facility.

I would guess that this is a common rumor for all donut companies, and that people in general think that donuts are still fried in lard.
